Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Journey to Whyalla
Travel through South Australia's mid-north into the Spencer Gulf region, arriving in Whyalla — one of South Australia's major industrial and coastal cities, set on the shores of Upper Spencer Gulf. This evening, enjoy dinner and an overnight stay as we prepare for our journey onto the Eyre Peninsula.
Day 2 – Cowell, Tumby Bay & Arrival in Port Lincoln
Today we travel down the eastern coast of the Eyre Peninsula, stopping in the charming fishing town of Cowell — famous for its jade and jade artisans — and the picturesque seaside township of Tumby Bay, with its turquoise waters and beautiful foreshore. This afternoon we arrive in Port Lincoln, our home for the next three nights, and settle in with views across the magnificent Boston Bay.
Day 3 – Coffin Bay & the Oyster Coast
Today we venture to the renowned Coffin Bay National Park, one of the Eyre Peninsula's most spectacular destinations. Famous for its pristine beaches, turquoise waters and the celebrated Coffin Bay oysters, this beautiful coastal park offers some of the most breathtaking scenery on the peninsula. We enjoy a relaxed oyster tasting experience before exploring the stunning coastal landscapes and returning to Port Lincoln.
Day 4 – Boston Bay Seafood Cruise
A highlight of the tour — a memorable seafood cruise through the crystal-clear waters of Boston Bay. Aboard our charter vessel, we cruise past tuna farms, learn about the Eyre Peninsula's extraordinary aquaculture industry and enjoy a generous fresh seafood lunch featuring the region's finest prawns, oysters and local produce. The sparkling waters of Boston Bay and the dramatic backdrop of the Lincoln National Park make this an unforgettable experience.
Day 5 – Port Augusta & Heading East
We farewell Port Lincoln and travel north through the Eyre Peninsula to Port Augusta, the gateway to the Outback and a fascinating crossroads of South Australian history. Learn about the city's role as a hub for remote communities and explore local attractions before continuing east through the Flinders Ranges foothills toward the Clare Valley.
Day 6 – Clare Valley & Barossa Valley
Today is a celebration of South Australian wine country. We travel through the beautiful Clare Valley — renowned for its outstanding Riesling and rolling vineyard scenery — before arriving in the famous Barossa Valley, one of the world's great wine regions. Enjoy a hosted winery visit and cellar door tasting, sampling the rich, full-bodied Shiraz and Grenache that have made the Barossa a household name around the world.
Day 7 – Historic Burra & South Australian Riverland
Today we visit the remarkable heritage town of Burra, once one of Australia's most important copper mining centres. The beautifully preserved buildings, Bon Accord Mine complex and fascinating heritage trail offer a vivid window into South Australia's colonial past. This afternoon we continue into the Riverland, South Australia's sun-drenched fruit-growing region along the Murray River, for our final overnight stay.
Day 8 – Murray River & Journey Home
