Day by Day Itinerary

1

Day 1 – Journey to Mannum

Travel through the picturesque landscapes of western Victoria and into South Australia. Passing through the Bordertown region and into the Murraylands, we arrive in Mannum — the historic birthplace of the Murray River paddlesteamer industry — our home for the next four nights. This evening, settle into your accommodation and enjoy a welcome dinner overlooking the Murray.

2

Day 2 – Adelaide Hills & Hahndorf

Today we explore the beautiful Adelaide Hills, one of South Australia's most scenic and celebrated regions. We visit the charming German settlement of Hahndorf, Australia's oldest surviving German settlement, where heritage buildings, artisan shops, galleries and cafés line the main street. Enjoy time to browse, taste local produce and soak up the unique European atmosphere before returning through the rolling hills to Mannum.

3

Day 3 – Victor Harbor, Encounter Bay & Granite Island

Our day takes us south to the spectacular Fleurieu Peninsula and the beautiful coastline of Encounter Bay. We visit Victor Harbor, one of South Australia's most popular seaside towns, and take the horse-drawn tram across the causeway to Granite Island, home to a colony of Little Penguins. Enjoy stunning views across Encounter Bay before visiting Goolwa and the Murray Mouth, where Australia's greatest river meets the Southern Ocean.

4

Day 4 – Coorong National Park & Scenic Touring

Today we explore the remarkable Coorong National Park, a narrow strip of coastal lagoons, dunes and wetlands stretching over 100 kilometres along the South Australian coast. Home to extraordinary birdlife and unique ecosystems, the Coorong is one of Australia's most significant wetland environments. We take in the sweeping coastal scenery and learn about the natural and cultural significance of this iconic Australian landscape before returning to Mannum.

5

Day 5 – Blue Lake, Mount Gambier & Journey Home

Before beginning our journey home, we make a memorable detour to Mount Gambier to visit the famous Blue Lake — a stunning volcanic crater lake renowned for its dramatic seasonal colour changes from deep blue in summer to a steel grey in winter. We also visit the Umpherston Sinkhole, a beautifully landscaped collapsed cave garden, before continuing home through western Victoria with wonderful memories of South Australia.
